On October 4, the exhibition of one of our most important artists, Sanja Iveković opens in the Kunsthalle Wien. Curated by Zdenka Badovinac, the Works of Heart (1974–2022) exhibition remains open until March 12, 2023.

This retrospective exhibition presents a wide range of works that include early feminist works that focused on the relationship between mass media and ideology, created as part of  the Nova umjetnička praksa [New Art Practice] movement in Yugoslavia, as well as later projects that examined the transformation of the Balkan countries.

The day after the opening Iveković presents a new performance that she has developed in collaboration with dancer and performer Mitja ObedMajka i kći (Kokoš i jaje) [Mother and Daughter (Chicken and Egg)] is centered around stereotypical notions of the mother-daughter relationship which echoes one of the main topics of the exhibition.

More details about the exhibition and the program are available on the Kunsthalle Wien website.
