Strengthening Creativity and Capacity in Art Education: Celje

As part of the Erasmus+ Mobility Program (Field: Adult Education / Mode: Physical Mobility), WHW representatives Ana Kovačić and Gordana Borić participated in a job shadowing program in Celje, organised by Regional Museum of Celje, from 17 to 26 February. The program focused on observing the museum’s educational, mediation and public programmes, as well as learning about how the institution plans its annual activities, develops collaborations, and connects educational content with exhibitions and audience engagement. The participants attended guided tours of the permanent exhibition at the Celje Regional Museum, as well as the Center for Contemporary Arts Celje, which operates within the museum institution. At the centre, they took part in a guided tour of the exhibition Drava Art Biennale 2025, observed workshops and public programmes, and became familiar with the institution’s internal processes of planning, coordination and evaluation. The program also included visits and meetings with local partners and artistic actors, including the art district with studios Artist Quarter U4, artist-in-residence Maximillian Lehner from Vienna, Studio Pelikan withinRegional Museum of Celje, and Museum of Recent History Celje. Particular attention was given to issues of accessibility, inclusivity, collaboration with diverse audiences, and the possibilities of transferring certain methods and tools into WHW’s work. The mobility provided concrete insight into the everyday operations of cultural institutions in Celje and opened space for professional exchange, reflection, and the adaptation of acquired knowledge to WHW’s future programmes.

The project is implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme and the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes.
