We continue the discursive program with a lecture and conversation with the curator and writer Tia Čiček.

Departing from the notion of care curating, we’ll think together about less extractive ways of working, through which collaborations are not simply a necessity borne of precarity, but also a condition of possibility. If we understand our ideas and practices as part of a larger entanglement, working together and working more slowly stops being an unobtainable ideal and instead becomes a viable method. This talk plays with an idea of research and curating as process-oriented practices that resist extraction and center relationships over results.

Tia Čiček is a curator, writer, and researcher. From 2020 until 2025, they were programming Škuc Gallery in Ljubljana, where they are currently collaborating with Maska and co-leading the World of Art School for Curatorial Practices and Critical Writing. Focusing on collaborative exhibition/project-making, they assume care, feminist, and queer methodologies as the basis of cooperation and discussions. Their curatorial research–entangled curating–introduces connectedness in care for all more-than-human species involved in contemporary art representation and discussion.

This talk will take place under the larger umbrella of WHW’s discursive framework, Remember Freedom. Launched in 2025, this program draws its inspiration from a 2014 speech in which Ursula LeGuin urged society to tend to its artists–˝the realists of a larger reality.˝ The programme will be held in English.

Many thanks to Booksa for their hospitality.
