Repetition: Pride and Prejudice deals with the possibilities and effects of repeating, re-enacting or reconstructing certain actions, stories, gestures, signs or texts anchored in social space and in a precisely contextualized political state or program. The presented works of Sharon Hayes, Pierre Huyghe, Sanja Iveković, Aydan Murtezaoglu, Anri Sala and Andreas Siekmann demonstrate shifts and leaps of meaning created at the edges and intersections of overlapping originals and replicas, stories and history, information and discourse. The focus is not on repetition but on the change it brings, on performative actualization and its limitations, displacements, translations and potentials.
