We had the opportunity to take part in a dance workshop led by Ana Kreitmeyer, 19th and 21st of May in Ribnjak Youth Center, where we explored the \u201ceros\u201d of the moment and the \u201ceros\u201d of dance through movement. We searched for those places in the body and movement where enthusiasm, joy, will, and pleasure are born \u2014 both within our own bodies and in the relationships the body forms with other bodies and the space around it. A special emphasis was placed on the experience of the collective body \u2014 a shared space of support, presence, and attentiveness. We learned how dance emerges not only from individual impulse but also from connection and the sense of togetherness that empowers us and opens us up to others. Together, we relaxed, supported, and carried one another, built trust, and explored movement as a space of solidarity and encounter.<\/p>\n
The workshop is part of the Practices of Care<\/i> program, funded through the special public call Culture and Art in the Community<\/i> of the City of Zagreb, and implemented by WHW in collaboration with Centar mladih Ribnjak.<\/p>\n
Ana Kreitmeyer <\/strong>is a dance artist. Her interest in the body is expressed through various practices, ranging from performance and choreography to pedagogy and social engagement. As a member and co-author, she worked with the collective BADco., and today she develops her own choreographic works. She is actively involved in the public sphere of the Zagreb dance scene and has been engaged for many years with Croatian Dancers Association, where she served as president from 2016 to 2018. She is one of the co-organizers of the collaborative project ANTISEZONA and a co-founder of Ekscena (Experimental Free Scene). Ana is also part of the initiative “Autonomy to Dance!” and was a member of the Zagreb Dance Company from 2003 to 2004. She is a certified facilitator of the ContaKids method.
