Migration and its goal, achieving security (physical, economic and emotional) in another country, is a process that includes both the individual who migrates and all those who are on their way or at their final destination. Artistic initiatives, many of which dealt with this issue even before it entered the media’s field of vision, bring a necessarily complex spectrum of perspectives to the general public.
Therefore, this talk, with the participation of the artist selma banich, the director Tiha K. Gudac and the artist Davor Konjikušić, with the moderation of the scientist and anthropologist Marijana Hameršak, will try to detect the position of the cultural community in that process, the possibilities and limitations of action through artistic practices.
The talk was organized in cooperation of the association WHW with the Goethe-Institut Kroatien and the oral history project Archiv der Flucht (Archive of Escape) from Berlin’s House of World Cultures.
